Patricia Fern Allen

Patricia Fern Allen born 9/19/1930 in Central Falls, Rhode Island passed away peacefully in the company of her daughter Liza at Hope Hospice of Providence after a brief illness on Tuesday, July 16, 2024. She is survived by her daughter Liza Bartlett and partner Jude Bartlett as well as her grandson Zachary Bartlett, his wife Krystal and her twin great-granddaughters Harper and Blake. All of whom she love deeply. She is also survived by a multitude of lifelong friends, who she cherished dearly, and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her parents, John Benjamin Allen and Grace Doris Thatcher. Her husband, James Weiss, and former husband, Leroy F. Bartlett. Additionally all of her siblings, James Allen, Byrnece Allen, and John Benjamin Allen. Patricia attended Hope High School (1950) And then went on to receive her BFA from Rhode Island School of Design (1967). Followed by a Masters Degree from Brown University (1969). She was an accomplished award-winning painter and a long time member of the Providence Art Club as well as the South County and Wickford Art Association’s. She was a force; strong willed, talented, fashionable and vivacious. She lived life to its’ fullest right up until the day she could no longer keep up. She couldn’t have written a more perfect exit, surrounded by loving family on our annual summer vacation in her beloved South County. Her life, lived so fully, ended like the final touch of a vibrant painting, she went with style. It was her wish that there be no formal services, however the family will host an intimate celebration of her life at a later date. We would also like to extend gratitude to her physician, Diane Siedlecki for exceptional care over the last decade.
