Jerilyn Woodward

Jerilyn (née Potts) Woodward passed away peacefully on December 29, 2024. She was born in Rhode Island on December 24, 1946. She was the cherished daughter of the late Robert and Louise Potts (née Crossley) and the devoted wife of the late Richard Woodward. Jerilyn is survived by her three beloved sons, Michael Curtiss of Cumberland, RI; David Curtiss (Amy) of Concord, MA; and Greg Curtiss (Annamari) of Litchfield, CT. She was the very proud and loving grandmother to Zachary, Ethan, Madelyn, Nicholas, Lilah, Eloise, Celia, and Brody. Jerilyn also treasured her family and friends, including her late sister Judy Seiter (Karl), her sister Nancy Kiernan (Bernie), as well as countless cousins, nieces, nephews, and neighborhood friends. A compassionate caregiver, Jerilyn dedicated her career to helping others as a nurse. She worked as a pediatric nurse at Bristol Hospital and in the ICU at Bradley Memorial, where she touched countless lives with her kindness and skill. Beyond her profession, Jerilyn’s greatest legacy was her unwavering love for her family. She was a fiercely devoted mother, a doting grandmother, and an extraordinary mother-in-law. Her family knew that they could always count on her for words of wisdom and support in every form. Jerilyn was known for her loyalty, generosity, and clever sense of humor. She found joy in the simple pleasures of life—family trips to the Berkshires and traveling to Branson, MO, birdwatching, following the Red Sox and Kansas City Chiefs and sharing laughter through her teaching of Laughter Yoga. She delighted family and friends with her excellent cooking, and her grandchildren were especially fond of her famous brownies. Jerilyn’s faith guided her throughout her life, and her warmth and kindness left an indelible mark on everyone she met. She will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and laughter will live on in the hearts of all who were blessed to know her.
