Charlene R. Sullivan of Johnston, RI passed away on March 15th, 2014. There will be a memorial service on March 21st at 11:00 AM, at the Winfield and Sons Funeral Home 571 W Greenville Rd, Scituate, RI 02857). Born in Portland, Maine, Charlene was the daughter of Helen Snell and William Burns. She was the beloved wife of Michael Sullivan for 48 years. She leaves behind her brothers, Horace Chuck Jonah and Brian Burns, her sisters Helen Smitley and Carolyn Jonah, as well as her brother-in-law Richard Smitley, and her sisters-in-law Christine Jonah and Alice Burns. Charlene and Michael have four children, Michael Sullivan Jr., Tracy Sullivan (deceased), Janice Andersen, and Heather Sullivan, as well as son-in-law Geoff Andersen and daughters-in-law Nancy Giannetti and Jessica Sullivan. Charlene leaves her six grandchildren, Michael Giannetti, Sherwin Williams, Kayla Giannetti, Vanessa Sullivan, Thomas Sullivan, and Emily Andersen, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Family was always very important to Charlene. Charlene and Michael's home was always open to anyone in need of help. Charlene's motto was that there was always room for one more. Charlene loved to cook and was always willing to share her knowledge and recipes. She not only loved her family with her entire being, but was also dedicated to her many students in the Boston Public school system where she worked for several years. Charlene touched many lives with her warm heart and understanding nature. She truly was a pebble in the pond of life that gently pushed so many others in positive directions. She never gave up on anyone and believed that change was always possible. Charlene herself would scoff at this description, but she was truly an amazingly selfless women who will be missed by anyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
