Pamela Ann Petrone

Pamela (Pam) Ann Petrone, 68, of West Warwick, RI, passed away on February 1, 2024 from a courageous battle against pancreatic cancer. Pam was born on March 6, 1955 to parents Francis Benedict Petrone, Jr. and Diane Constance (Hunt) in Warwick, RI. Along with her birth parents, she is preceded in death by her stepfather Donald Worthen. She leaves behind her daughters whom she had with her former spouse, David Huntley, Christine Huntley and partner Craig Hein, and Amy Huntley and spouse Amy MacFarlane, sister Penelope and spouse Gus Vargas, brother Francis Benedict Petrone III and spouse Pamela, grandson Cillian James David Hein and newly born granddaughter Cora Lynn Nyx Hein, nieces Jennifer, Andrea, Amanda, Paige, Annemarie, and Brianna, her dear friend and bonus mom to her children, Irene Huntley, as well as many cousins, extended family, and dear friends. Pamela, lovingly known to most as Pam or Pammy, was raised in Warwick, RI and was a graduate of Tollgate High School. She had many different careers during her life, but spent the latter part of her life supporting the education of Schneider Electric’s engineers whom she often referred to as the “guys and girls” of her extended family. Pam’s heart was kind and pure and her spirit was free. She loved spending time with her grandson, Cillian, and teaching him about her favorite holiday, Halloween. She had a passion for gardening which could be seen by the colorful array of flowers she cultivated in her backyard. Pam also adored her dog, Carmella, a rescue that held Pam’s heart by their beautiful bond they forged until the very end. Pam could make everyone feel special and loved when she flashed her contagious smile and gleaming eyes. She had a feisty spirit and a gypsy heart that encouraged her to move many times to many different states throughout her life, including Florida, Massachusetts, Texas, Oklahoma, and Georgia. In 2019, her grandson, Cillian, encouraged her to move back to Rhode Island for good because “the love between a Gigi and her grandson knows no distance - but it’s sure nice to have that be a short distance.” No matter where she resided, her reach was far and her love was wide. Honoring her wish of a celebration of life over a conventional funeral, her daughters will hold a Memorial to honor Pam’s memory, on June 30, 2024 in the Winfield & Sons Funeral Home and Crematory, 571 West Greenville Road, North Scituate, RI 02857. Visiting hours begin at 12:00 p.m. and the Memorial will start promptly at 1:00 p.m. They invite anyone who knew her to attend to remember her wonderful spirit and love of life. They ask attendees to wear bright colors like the flowers that speckled Pam’s gardens. Those who would like to continue the celebration, her daughters will be hosting a reception immediately following the Memorial at Safe House, 195 Forge Road, East Greenwich, RI. All are encouraged to attend.
