John "Jack" Tibert

John “Jack” Tibert, 75 cherished husband of twenty-nine years to Cindy Knott-Tibert passed away on November 7, 2025 after a five-year battle with a pulmonary illness. He was a cherished father to Karen Wojcik (Mark Wojcik) and Matthew Tibert (Kaylee Tibert), and proud grandfather to his 8 grandchildren, Michelle Teaford Wojcik, Christopher Wojcik, Michael Wojcik, Stephanie Wojcik, Declan Tibert, Riley Tibert, Fiona Tibert, and Charlotte Tibert. He was a devoted stepfather to Christine Sullivan and Kerri Sullivan and a loving step-grandfather to Isabelle Sullivan-Rackliff, Zachary Topp, and Abigail Maruska. He was the son of the late Loretta (Hoar) Tibert, brother to the late Ernest Tibert, the late Carolyn Tibert and the late Dianne Tibert. He is survived by 6 nieces and nephews. Jack had a dynamic and hardworking career. He began as a journeyman pressman before transitioning to owning his taxi business, Action Taxi, in Florida, where he lived for 11 years. After moving back to Massachusetts, he served as a Field Consultant for 7-Eleven for many years overseeing not only New Hampshire stores, but Rhode Island stores as well, where he met his wife, Cindy. This paved way to his next venture as a franchisee in New Hampshire where they proudly owned and operated two 7-Eleven food stores. After selling his stores in New Hampshire he moved to Rhode Island to their home in Charlestown. In his early retirement, Jack enjoyed working as a part time Limo driver — his favorite part of the experience being the chance to meet clients from all over the world. Jack had a deep passion for politics and current events, always staying informed and engaging in thoughtful discussions. Jack regularly sent articles on various subjects to his children and grandchildren to discuss together later on. He also enjoyed researching financial investments, dedicating much of his time to managing his retirement accounts with great care. An avid sports fan, Jack was a lifelong supporter of the Miami Dolphins, watching their games with unwavering loyalty, whether they were winning or losing (especially now). As for his local favorite, he cheered for the Boston Celtics. Music was another great love of his, particularly the timeless songs of Elvis Presley. He could often be found sharing stories about Elvis’ life and music, and he had an encyclopedic knowledge of the Kings catalog. Traveling was one of his greatest joys, and he and his wife, Cindy, loved cruising, especially in the Caribbean, which they considered their ideal way to explore the world. The beach was always their favorite place to be. Together, they attended countless country music concerts, creating memories that would last a lifetime. Whether it be his sense of humor or lending a hand to a neighbor or friend, Jack was a kind and caring man that made an impression on everyone he met. All who knew Jack knew his deep love for his wife, Cindy, having described their life together as “magic” and a real-life love story. There will be a Celebration of Life on Thursday, November 13, 2025, 1:00 PM at Richard’s Pub, 3347 South County Trail, East Greenwich, RI 02818.
