Inez M. Jackson

Inez M. "Ma" (Smith) Jackson, 94 of East Providence, RI passed away peacefully on May 19,2015. Born in Providence, she was the daughter of the late William and Pearl (Smith) Cole. Inez was the wife of the late Frank Jackson. She worked as an institutional aide at the former Institute of Mental Health retiring from the State of Rhode Island in 1983. She was active in the RI State Employees Association, the precursor of RI Council 94, and RI?Chapter 94 Retirees. She was a member of St. Martin De Porres Senior Center and a past volunteer with Women & Infants Hospital and Meals on Wheels.Inez is survived by 3 children Jeremy Jackson, Dorothea Jackson Davis and Barbara Perry all of Providence. She was the mother to the late Frank Jackson, Jr. and Elvira "Betty" Adams. Inez was the beloved sister of the late Doris Smith. She is also survived by 10 grandchildren, 26 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren and 1 great great great child. She also leaves cousins, nieces, a nephew and a host of friends.A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, May 30th at 11AM at Macedonia U.A.M.E. Church, 35 Ashmont Street, Providence. Friends and colleagues are welcome. Calling hours are omitted. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations in her name can be made to: Macedonia U.A.M.E. Church.
