Howard C. Luther, Jr. 84, of Cranston, passed away at home on October 6, 2015. Howard (Howie) was the husband of the late Jacqueline (Nelson) Luther. He was the son of the late Howard Luther and Mildred (Graves) Luther. He leaves one daughter, Robyn (Luther) Ladouceur and her husband James Ladouceur of Cranston. He was known as GaGa to his 2 grandchildren, Ethan and Eden Ladouceur, of Cranston. He is survived by his sister, Barbara Stenning, and her husband, Reverend Gordon Stenning, of Portsmouth, RI. He is also survived by his sister-in-law, Judith Nelson, of Cranston. Howard also leaves 3 nieces, Pamela Stenning Caudill of Chestnut Hill, MA, Bethany (Templeton) Duprey of West Warwick, and Kerstin Templeton of Canton, MA, and 1 nephew, Mark Stenning, of Newport.Howard served in the United States Marine Corps. He was a retired Cranston Police Officer. He worked in several aspects of law enforcement. In the 1990™s, he retired from his position at Boliden Metech, Inc. in Mapleville, RI.Howard was a member of the Mt. Vernon Lodge of Masons. He enjoyed playing cards with friends and reminiscing. His grandchildren were his greatest joy in life. A Committal Service will be Saturday October 31st at 11AM at the RI Veterans Cemetery, Exeter.
