Simple Arrangements.
Think of what a family must go through when a death occurs: arrangements with funeral directors, cemetery sales people, and lengthy ceremonies.

Is it all necessary? No.

For years many people have preferred the simplicity and dignity of cremation. Arrangements are made with one licensed staff member from the Cremation Society of Rhode Island. We do everything, including:

  • Transport from place of death
  • Shelter remains temporarily
  • Obtain necessary authorizations and certificates
  • Provide a selection of cremation containers

When You Select Cremation, You Still Have Choices.
Basic cremation may be right in certain circumstances, but others may desire additional services. As the specialists in cremation, we can assist you and your family with any arrangement, such as memorial services or traditional funerals with services in a church or any appropriate facility.

Memorial services before cremation can have the body present, or the service may occur following the cremation with the cremated remains present in an appropriate urn.

The Benefits of Pre-Arrangement.
More families than ever are making arrangements in advance. Pre-planning allows you the opportunity to make wise decisions at a time convenient to you, and provide peace of mind for everyone involved.

We offer a variety of pre-payment programs so everyone can choose an affordable plan made especially for them. Pre-payment is recommended because it freezes costs, which protects funds against price increases due to inflation and other factors.

Please visit our Pre-Need Services page for more information and our online Required Data and File Form.

Cremation Society of Rhode Island  Catholic Liturgical Rites Selections
The Mass Of Christian Burial ... The Catholic Church prefers that the body or the cremains of the deceased be present for the funeral rite. The cremated remains, however, are to be treated with the same respect as the body before cremation. The church requires that the cremains should have a reverent disposition, including burial in a grave or entombment in a mausoleum or columbarium.

The Catholic Cremation celebrates the life of the loved one through several liturgical rites. In order to have the body of the loved one present during the mass, "Cremation Following Funeral Liturgy" is the best choice. If there will be a committal service following the mass, "Cremation and Cemetery Committal Following Funeral Liturgy" is the best option. And, for those who choose to have the cremated remains of the loved one at the mass, "Cremation Before Funeral Liturgy" is the best selection.
